Elaborately detailed filigree and brilliantly colored enamels are the signatures of Mongolian jewelry making. This traditional technique has distinctive Russian and Chinese influences and follows a process that has remained unchanged for generations.
Barbara Garwood designs the line of jewelry made of sterling silver with 24kt vermeil with fired enamel and genuine gemstones. Her mission is to provide employment for approximately 22 women and preserving a 1000 yr old art begun by the Mongolians and passed down through generations of crafts persons.
Cast from a rare turquoise and filigreed 24 KT gold, the Oyugun is considered the pinnacle of both quality and elegance in Mongolian Jewelry. Each ring is delicately created using filigree or “tweezer” work with 24KT gold then placed with hand picked and polished turquoise stone. Design accents are painted on the turquoise ring to highlight and give it the signature Mongolian style. Size 7.
