Spring 2012 Jewelry Trends

Although jewelry usually takes a back seat to clothes when Spring fashions are introduced, designers definitely use accessories to enhance their brands and highlight their inspirations. So of course, I’ve been checking out the shows to detect upcoming jewelry trends for Spring 2012.

What have I seen so far? Lots of bangles and more bangles, cuffs and bracelets. Big bangles, small bangles, stacked bangles, solo cuffs, double cuffs, leather bracelets, wood bracelets, and even bracelets with tassels. It looks like Spring of ‘12 will be one big party. This has me inspired to carve out some cuffs and bangles of my own!

What’s new for the rest of your body?

Chandelier Earrings: They’re back in small versions. New modestly sized styles were evident in recent market visits with LAGOS, John Hardy and more.

Pearls: Abundant, pretty and affordable! Freshwaters and mother-of-pearl are featured in new collections from LAGOS, among others.

Pendant Necklaces: Layerable and with no sizing required, pendants can accessorize a range of outfits. They’re a “foolproof” look to go with Spring dress collections from shift styles to tailored numbers.

Geometric Shapes and Tribal Effects: Angular pieces like square rings and bangles will work well with “in”column dresses, while horn and leather accents will speak to this year’s tribal looks in fashion.

Showstopper Necklaces are big, flashy and marvelous. These fashion jewelry items always garner a second look. If you’re hoping to make a grand entrance at a party or gala, wear one of our super-chunky necklaces. The bigger the better for spring 2012!
